Ray Baker had one of the earliest cameras in America for popular consumption back in 1952. He has attended New York Institute of Photography, Winona School of Professional Photography and has since photographed many parts of the world. He is considered by many as the, "Movement Photographer" for his work in the Freedom Movement.

Ray has done stills on a number of motion pictures. His clients have included: HBO; The Gene Siskel Film Center; The Joffrey Ballet; the City of Osaka, Japan; Hyde Park Historical Society; the Beverly Arts Center; and many others. He has been published in several newspapers and periodicals.

He won “Best of Photography” in the Museum of Science and Industry’s Black Creativity Juried Art Exhibit in 2013 and 2015.
